Created for families.
Grounded in lived experience.
We are a single-parent household navigating autism, sensory needs, and a world that wasn't built for us. One parent, one autistic kid, and a lot of sorting through what actually helps. This shop exists because I needed it to.
He hit every milestone early.
Then, at three, things changed.
We're a single-parent family raising an autistic kiddo with an expressive speech delay. For the first few years, he was ahead of schedule on everything. Then skills he had once had started to disappear, and eventually we had a diagnosis.
The diagnosis came with a lot of weight and not nearly enough direction.
What I found was a system more interested in managing him than understanding him. Fixing him. Measuring him against a standard he was never designed to meet.
What I wanted was a path forward that actually made room for him.
So we started finding our own way. We travel with accommodations. We ask for help. We learn what works and leave behind what doesn't. We make room for sensory needs, different ways of communicating, big feelings, big joy, and all the things that make Miko who he is. We show up in the world exactly as we are.
Because different doesn't mean broken, and it certainly doesn't mean less.
For every no, I went looking for another possibility. For every "he'll never," I wondered what might happen if we asked the question differently.
Miko's Code is one of those possibilities.
It grew from a belief that our children deserve more than access to systems built around what they aren't. They deserve room to explore, create, play, learn, communicate, and find out what they can do when the environment makes space for who they already are.
Families deserve support while they figure it out, too.
That's what I'm building here.
-
01 Because kids deserve joy.
All communication types are valid. How a child expresses themselves matters, not whether they do it the expected way.
-
02 Because one size fits no one.
Neurodivergent differences are a form of human diversity, not deficits to be fixed.
-
03 Because play is how kids learn.
Play, creativity, and sensory exploration are powerful ways for children to learn about themselves and the world around them.
-
04 Because neurodivergent ≠ broken.
Families deserve resources they can trust, curated by people who understand the journey from the inside.
These beliefs aren't just words.
Here's what they look like in practice.
We curate with intention
Every product here is something we'd use. Nothing goes in the shop because it's popular. We want to point you toward tools that help your kid feel calm and comfortable in their bodies, so they can be present and ready to learn.
We meet kids where they are
No developmental benchmarks. We trust that you know your kid, and we build around that. Our goal is to encourage imagination, play, and self-expression as core pathways to learning and confidence.
We keep it real
We don't have it all figured out. We share what's working, what isn't, and what we're still sorting through, because that's useful.
We make room for families, too
This space is for caregivers as much as it's for kids. You deserve support, community, and resources that don't require a degree to understand.
Built the way most parents build things:
because I needed it and couldn't find it.
I'm Taly, and I'm the parent of an autistic kid. I've spent years sorting through toys and books that claimed to be sensory-friendly or inclusive and weren't, or that treated neurodivergence as a problem to be managed rather than a way of being in the world.
I wanted a place where families like mine could find things that actually work, chosen by someone who knows the difference.
Professionally, I've spent 15 years building brands and content systems for mission-driven organizations — work that's always come back to the same thing: making sure people can find what they need, in language that respects them. Miko's Code is that same instinct, applied to my own living room.
Every product here is something I'd put in my own kid's hands. That's the whole standard.
